The catch is that LA's headline museums, the Getty Center, the Broad, the California Science Center and Griffith Observatory among them, cost nothing at the door. A pass therefore only pays if the itinerary stacks paid attractions such as the Academy Museum at $25, Madame Tussauds Hollywood at $29, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at $79 or the Aquarium of the Pacific at $49.95. Two or three of those plus a theme park and the Plus pass starts to work; a free-museum itinerary makes any pass a waste.
